HUGE SAVINGS STOREWIDE ON HOT TUBS, FURNITURE AND MUCH MORE!
Welcome to the family! To get you off to a good start use this hot tub maintenance guide as a reference and don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help all of our friends in The Villages !
Here’s a few tips before you go in for a soak:
- Always use a swimsuit that is not washed with any detergent
- Always rinse before going into the spa to remove lotions, cosmetics, deodorant and sweat
- Have fun!
It is recommended to completely drain and refill your spa about every 3-6 months depending on your usage. Before draining the spa turn the power off at the breaker or service disconnect. When filling the spa start by removing a filter and filling it through the filter housing so water gets directly down to the pump (this helps prevent an airlock in the pump). Then fill it to the water mark located on the filter housing cover. If you have a water softener on your home, make sure to bypass it when filling your spa. Once the spa is filled turn your pump(s) on low and proceed with your chemical program.
Be sure to test your water weekly. If you are not confident in your results bring a sample by the store. Keep in mind you must bring the sample within 2 hours of collecting it. Even if you are 100% confident in your abilities on testing the water it is still a great idea to bring a sample at least once a month to the store for analysis. The water analysis at the store can identify issues you cannot determine at home. It also ensures that your water chemistry is within range. Proper water chemistry is important for your health as well as your spa’s health. Poor water chemistry can lead to skin irritation, corrosion of spa equipment and deterioration of the cover and head rests.
Filters should be taken out and cleaned every 3-4 weeks depending on usage. Simply put your spa in “standby” (in settings) and remove the filters. Spray the filters out with your hose and make sure all debris are cleared from the filters. If the filters are overly dirty you can purchase a filter cleaning solution from the store. The filters should be replaced every year. Stop by the store when it’s time to get a replacement.
