HUGE SAVINGS STOREWIDE ON HOT TUBS, FURNITURE AND MUCH MORE!
Your hot tub should be a place to relax—not another complicated chore. Use this guide for the everyday basics that help protect your water, equipment and comfort.
Always follow the instructions for your specific spa, water-care system and products. If something does not look or feel right, our local team is here to help.

Rinse off lotions, cosmetics, deodorant and sweat before entering the spa. These products—and detergent residue from swimwear—can contribute to foam, cloudy water and extra demand on the sanitizer.
Keep the cover clean, make sure the water is clear, and confirm the spa is operating normally before use.
BEFORE OR AFTER REGULAR USE
Look at the water, check for unusual odor or foam, and confirm normal circulation and temperature.
AT LEAST ONCE EACH WEEK
Test the water using the correct strips or testing method for your water-care system. Adjust only as directed by the product labels, owner’s manual or Spa & Patio Center water-care plan.
EVERY FEW WEEKS
Inspect and rinse the filters as needed. Heavy use, storms, landscaping debris and water-quality issues may require more frequent attention.
REGULARLY
Bring a fresh water sample to Spa & Patio Center for professional analysis. Collect it in a clean container and bring it in promptly for the most useful results.

Balanced water protects your comfort and the equipment inside your spa. Begin with a fresh test strip and follow the instructions for your specific water-care system.
In general, adjust total alkalinity first, followed by pH and sanitizer. Bullfrog Spas identifies a total alkalinity range of 80–120 ppm and a pH range of 7.2–7.8.
Make small adjustments, allow the water to circulate and retest as directed. Never mix chemicals together, and always follow the product label and your owner’s manual.

Clean filters support proper circulation and make it easier to maintain clear water. Follow the instructions for your particular Bullfrog Spa because filter styles and replacement schedules vary by model.
Place the spa in its appropriate standby or hold mode before servicing the filters. Rinse between the pleats as directed, inspect for damage or buildup and reinstall everything correctly before returning the spa to normal operation.
If you are unsure which filter your spa uses or when it should be replaced, bring a photo or the existing filter to Spa & Patio Center.

As spa water ages, accumulated residue and dissolved materials can make it increasingly difficult to maintain. Bullfrog Spas generally recommends draining and refilling approximately every three to four months, depending on usage, water quality and maintenance practices.
Turn off power at the main breaker before draining. Do not turn the power back on until the spa has been properly refilled.
The correct filling location varies by Bullfrog model and series. Follow your owner’s manual to help prevent trapped air and protect the pumps. Never fill entirely with softened water unless the appropriate mineral adjustment is made under qualified guidance.

Contact our team if the water remains cloudy, foamy or difficult to balance; the spa is not heating or circulating normally; the breaker trips; an error code appears; you discover a leak; or a pump begins making an unusual noise.
Adding more chemicals without identifying the underlying cause can make the problem harder to correct. When something does not seem right, stop and ask for help.
